About

El Poblado is also known as commune 14 of the Medellin metropolitan area and "The Golden Blocks" for being the main center of industry and commerce in Colombia’s second most important city in Colombia.

According to its history, at the beginning of the last century, it was the favorite area for families with good incomes. Although initially, the journey from El Poblado to Medellín was not easy, it had an attraction that did not go unnoticed.

In the 1950s, El Poblado was included in the city due to the growth of industrial activities from the Medellín River to the south, where the wealthiest people began to build and move from the Prado neighborhood, which at that time was the most exclusive neighborhood in the city.

Around the 1970s, El Poblado became the home of the highest-income families in Medellín; it gave it the nickname of the Golden Mile, and the Zona Rosa came up as an exclusive place for business, nightlife, and entertainment for locals and tourists.

Over time, El Poblado has become the favorite destination for those who visit Medellín’s city. Both national and international tourists highlight the wide variety of experiences and attractions that each corner of this exclusive neighborhood offers, which today manages to position itself as the most popular and loved by its residents and visitors.
