Live In MDE 2: A Night Spent Celebrating the Power of Entertainment Branding in the El Poblado Community

Español

Last Thursday on August 31, El Poblado MDE hosted the second edition of Live In MDE, an event that showcases the importance of branding in the vibrant community of El Poblado, and the broader Medellín area. Built around a panel discussion, Live In MDE 2 allowed attendees the opportunity to network, learn about entertainment branding, and share perspectives on how the entertainment industry is being branded within the community.

The night kicked off with a Reception Drink allowing attendees to try different drinks from our brand partners, Fizzy, Tada, and Nativo Oriente. The reception gave attendees the opportunity to converse and connect with one another prior to the panel discussion. The opening reception also featured a special chance for guests to receive temporary tattoos from Mogly Tattoo. With the tattoo session complete and drinks being served, it was time for the panel discussion to begin.

With a panel full of industry leaders in all different aspects of the entertainment industry in Medellín, audience members were able to listen in on the importance of entertainment branding in El Poblado. Moderated by Jazmín Cañas, a Medellín-based radio announcer and content creator, the panel discussed the role entertainment plays in the identity of the neighborhood of El Poblado, and how it’s being branded, not only by tourists, but locals. The panel featured an array of distinguished guests ready to share their thoughts, exchange perspectives, and answer any questions the audience had in regards to the topic. The panelists included: Isabel Garcés, singer, songwriter, and voice actor most famously known for her role in Disney’s Encanto, Jean Paul Egred, creative director of Fury Records SAS in Medellín, Dora Veléz, Director of Development and Commercial Management the Museum of Modern Art (MAMM) in Medellín,and Víctor Hugo, General Manager of Plaza Mayor. The panelists led an interesting discussion sharing their own stories within the entertainment industry and engaging the audience with thoughtful questions and creating fruitful connections. The panel allowed both panelists and audience members to indulge into the conversation about different topics and facets of the entertainment industry such as challenges creatives may face in the entertainment industry, how important it is for the younger generation to be both curious and ambitious to learn more about the entertainment industry and their ability to express themselves within that industry, and that those in and around the entertainment industry should understand how connected art, entertainment, history and culture are to one another. With the focus on creatives, the panel also focused on how those outside of the creative world can interact with and learn about the entertainment industry.

Following the panel, the night continued with audience members networking with one another and the five panelists. With local band, Reyner, providing original music along with a mix of reggaeton, hip-hop, and urban pop fusion coming from DJ Moe, the night continued with meaningful conversations and connections being shared. Bringing together the community of El Poblado, Live In MDE 2 highlighted the importance of entertainment branding in the growing neighborhood of Medellín. The event included intriguing discussions and memories that are the beginning of exciting opportunities and future collaborations.

El Poblado MDE would like to thank all the attendees who attended this outstanding event and for their participation and excitement that made the night truly come to life.
